Two primary school groups that can accommodate around 800 children in sometimes difficult conditions: the classrooms are old, girls have still very little access to education and the teaching is based on repetition and corporal punishment. As a result, pupils progress with great difficulties and many of them leave school without knowing how to read or write.
As part of the educational program, Urgence Afrique helps teachers with material or monetary donations or with school supplies given at the start of the school year to improve the conditions of work.
Finally, Urgence Afrique has also set up the Children’s Cabin, which allows accommodation of more than one hundred children within a frame that differs from school and is based on listening and interactivity. The aim is to offer better living conditions for the child and contribute to his or her self-development through manual work, artistic and physical activities.
